Inviting Parents and Their Children to Participate in Parent-Child Road Crossing Study in the Natural Environment
You and your 6- to 8-year-old child are invited to participate in a study examining how children and parents cross roads together in the natural environment.
To be eligible, you and your child must:
• Be fluent in written and spoken English
• Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision and hearing
• Regularly take walks together involving crossing roads with traffic

Children must be 6 to 8 years old. Participation requires an initial 30-minute visit to the Perceiving, Acting, and Thinking Lab in the Psychological and Brain Sciences Building on the University of Iowa campus. The lab visit will be followed by a home session in which parents and children take four walks together to destinations of their choosing while wearing head-mounted video cameras. Parents or guardians will complete questionnaires regarding the child’s behavior and pedestrian experience.
Compensation: $100 total and free parking is provided.
